Free Washington DOL Fines and Limits Permit Practice Test 2024

Our free Washington Fines and Limits permit practice test will help you pass your instruction permit test AND maintain the driving privileges you are working so hard to obtain. This specially designed permit practice test focuses on the possible consequences of poor driving. It is up to date as of December 2024 and is based on Washington’s official driver’s manual (Washington DOL Handbook (WA Driver's Manual) 2024) and the Revised Code of Washington.

The 50 questions and answers on this practice test address such topics as license suspensions or revocations for various traffic offenses, the fines imposed for such common violations as using a handheld cell phone while you’re driving or parking in a disabled parking space without the appropriate permit, and the administrative and legal consequences of driving under the influence (DUI). (You should know those fines for your permit test.) As with the other Washington permit practice tests we offer, the Fines and Limits permit test features an automated assistant, which can provide you with a hint or an explanation of the correct answer for each question.

In the United States, about 37 people die in alcohol-related crashes every day. That works out to about one fatality every 39 minutes. About 40 percent of all traffic deaths involve alcohol-impaired drivers. In 2022, 13,524 people died in traffic crashes in which alcohol impairment was a contributing factor. That same year, there were also 12,151 speeding-related deaths nationwide. Speeding was a contributing factor in 29 percent of traffic fatalities.

In 2020, 12.17 percent of Washington’s drivers had at least one speeding ticket on their driving record. In 2022, there were 733 traffic fatalities in Washington. 256 (35 percent) of these fatalities were alcohol related (blood alcohol content 0.08 or higher), and 250 (34 percent) of these fatalities were speeding related.

The traffic laws are there for our safety. This Fines and Limits permit practice test illustrates some of the serious consequences that can flow from violating those laws.
